The Vanilla Visa Gift Card is issued by the Bancorp Bank, and they are a member of the FDIC. This should not be confused with the My Vanilla Debit Card.
How The Vanilla Visa Gift Card Works
Instead, of giving a friend or family member a gift card to Best Buy or their favorite retail shop or cash, you can give them a Vanilla Visa Gift Card which can be used at any of their favorite retailers. It is a way of giving someone cash as a gift, but instead your giving them a gift card.
This gift card can be used anywhere for purchases in the United States. However, it is not accepted outside of the United States. In other words, this is not a Visa card that can be used if you are traveling abroad.

We get that giving a gift, that someone will actually use is far better than re-gifting a sweater from your in-laws. Maybe, we are living in the past. But, we believe giving cash is a much more effective, cheaper, and enjoyable way to give a gift, than purchasing the Vanilla Visa Gift Card.
There are a number of reports from consumers complaining about the customer service or lack of good customer service. Please, use caution before giving anyone your hard earned money. Double check the fine print of any prepaid gift card, reloadable debit card, and credit card. For more details about the Vanilla Visa Gift Card visit https://www.vanillavisa.com/.
