Excella Card Fees
There are 2 fee plans you can choose from with the Excella prepaid Visa debit card.
- Pay-as-you-go plan
We do not suggest you choose the pay-as-you-go fee plan. There is an unbelievable $2 fee per transaction, if you use your pin number when making a purchase. If instead, you choose ‘credit‘ and sign for your purchase you will be charged $1 per transaction.
These are incredibly high prepaid debit card fees. If you choose to get the Excella card please avoid the pay-as-you-go plan! Unless you only have 1 or 2 purchases to make each month.
- Unlimited purchase plan
If you choose the unlimited purchase plan, you will not pay any fees when you make purchases. You will be required to pay a monthly maintenance fee of $10. This is slightly on the expensive side for a monthly fee.
There are many competing prepaid cards such as the Chase Liquid card, that only carry a $4.95 monthly fee. There are no additional fees with the Chase prepaid card. However there are some miscellaneous fees with the Excella prepaid card. This is a good prepaid debit card, but it is not one of the best prepaid debit cards.
American Express or AMEX prepaid has some of the lowest fees and best benefits of any prepaid credit cards we have reviewed.
